Being a member of the European Union, the people of Poland are free to travel to 24 countries of Europe in an easy manner without having to furnish passport or visa. There are no land and sea border controls in these 24 countries.

The economy of the country is the fastest growing economies of the world. In fact, it is the sixth largest economy in Europe and twenty-first in the world.
The GDP of the country grows at a rapid rate of 5% per year. While the inflation rate is low, the wages have grown at an average rate of 5% per year. Although the country witnessed a high unemployment rate till 2004 but it is rapidly decreasing since then.
Poland follows the parliamentary republic political system led by Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. Prime Minister is elected after every four years while the President, being the head of the state is elected after every five years. There are two houses i.e Sejm and Senat, the former being 460 members and the latter comprising of 100 members. The major parties which represent the Parliament include:- socialist democratic Left and Democrats, moderate right wing Civic Platform, right wing Law and Justice and centralist Polish People’s Party.
