60 Indian students deported from Georgia for persistent changes in Visa Rules, unfair norms against student’s career

After getting visa rejection thrice, Indian students who landed in Georgia were deported back to India despite having secured admission in the government medical universities there. Students who got visa before the amendment changed got highly affected. Parents of the affected students express intense grief and claim their entire loss and demand justice for putting their children’s future on stake.

Parents of the students mentioned the cause for their loss is the retrospective changes in Visa and if those changes are to be made it’s their right to get informed at least 2-3 month earlier.

External minister “Sushma swaraj” has taken this issue to the Georgian deputy PM “Mikheil janelidze to assure resolving the issue and had also spoken to higher authorities to look into this matter.

Some students confronting the cause of this issue is misbehaving with the immigration authorities and others are saying changing visa rules is the reason for their deportation despite having a secured D3 visa.

Students who had already applied for the visa process and got a new rule (imposing after may) to mandate NEET to study MBBS in Foreign universities handful of hours ago should not be affected. Students and their parents blame Georgian government for abstract rules and amendments for overseas students imposed anytime without proper intimation has landed them into trouble. They also mention the actual cause of their delay as

  • Rejecting student visa 3 times
  • delay in Visa by the Georgian embassy (stated reason for delay “improper documents” which is false).
  • Delay in conducting language proficiency test which was not a part of taking admission in Georgia earlier cause immense delay in getting Visa.

After dealing with all trembling situations, students got late for the scheduled program and hence the Georgian authorities have imposed new rules which left Indian students in an impossible condition to meet with the requirements.

All the deported students claim that they falsely denied entry into Georgia and were getting Humiliating treatment at the immigration point.

The Indian external affairs minister Sushma swaraj also tweeted as-

The case has taken a different turn as the students who deported back have apply again for Georgia and are not allowed to take flight from New Delhi as the strict action taken by Georgian authorities.

The interior ministry of Georgia mentioned that around 6700 Indians have entered in Georgia in 2017 and in the quarter half 250 Indian students denied entry in the country.
